DeLong HouseThe DeLong House

In 1868 Zopher DeLong, a Glens Falls hardware merchant, remodeled his modest wood frame home on Glen Street to demonstrate his rising status in the community, adding the brick façade and mansard roof seen by visitors today.

Following Zopher’s death in 1901, his son John took over the home and remodeled it again to reflect his desire for modern tastes and conveniences.

Visitors to the museum today can learn about the history of the Glens Falls area through an experience of the DeLong’s home furnished as it would have been a century ago.  Guided tours are available Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.
