On December 7, 1941, the United States was thrust into World War II after Japanese bombers attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Government posters used images of the events of Pearl Harbor to incite feelings of anger and patriotism among Americans and to inspire them to keep supporting the war.
