
Air Force Helicopter Delivering the Film “Toward the Unknown”, 1956
On October 10, 1956, an Air Force helicopter used for rescue work and troop deployment landed in Crandall Park. It was a promotional event to bring the movie “Towards the Unknown” to its screening at the Paramount Theatre. In addition, the helicopter remained on site to allow visitors the opportunity to get up close and inspect. The film which starred William Holden and Lloyd Nolan, was about test pilots.
