“Recent Gifts” features a sampling of the hundreds of items received as gifts in the past decade. These were selected from hundreds of items because they reflect the diversity of the museum’s collection.
Donated to the museum for safekeeping — ultimately for the benefit of the community, some gifts were single items, while others consisted of extensive collections of family papers and photographs. All meet the museum’s collecting criteria. The museum does not collect items simply because they are old; they must tell the history of the Glens Falls / Queensbury area.
To help tell that story we have added images from our archives, which complement the recent gifts. For your benefit we also have included details not viewable in the current museum exhibition.
